Whipping up Creativity: Iowa, the Arts, and NYC

  • American Ballet Theatre 890 Broadway New York, NY, 10003 United States (map)

Please RSVP by Monday, October 29:

Please join the New York Metro IOWA Club and local University of Iowa alumni and friends for an insider’s view of Hancher Auditorium and American Ballet Theatre’s Whipped Cream.

The whimsical full-length story ballet heads to Hancher for a pair of shows on April 6, 2019, and returns to New York later that spring. David Lansky, the general manager of American Ballet Theatre, will detail Whipped Cream’s journey to Iowa City, and Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects design principal Mitchell Hirsch will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the project to rebuild Hancher.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with a live performance from singer-songwriter and cellist Gabriel Royal. The 7 p.m. program begins with remarks from Dan Patterson, the New York Metro IOWA Club president, and Hancher executive director Chuck Swanson. Space is limited for this special collaboration between Hancher and American Ballet Theatre—don’t miss out!
